MAGDALENA VELEVSKA AW12...

Magdalena Velevska can do no wrong. The 2012 Autumn Winter Collection is further testimony to this. I am experiencing serious lust pains over each piece. I particularly want structured asymmetrical skirts and neon accents all over me.

SPLASHES OF SUNSHINE...

A week away on the coast has left me pining for sunshine and beach times. And so an homage to the unlikely colour yellow...

CANDY CONGO...

Where at first glance these images would appear to depict some mystical, (photo-shopped) Willy Wonka-esque realm- they are not. These photographs are a selection from photographer Richard Mosse’s collection, Infra. A battlefield has never appeared this beautiful as Mosse travelled to war-torn Congo with his infrared film developed for camouflage detection.

The now discontinued Kodak Aerochrome film was mounted in airplanes for both geological and military landscape analysis. The healthy, deciduous foliage turns out magenta or red, and the camouflaged objects generally appear as purple or blue. Lush greens are blanketed by the infrared radiation they reflect- showing us the world in a way we’ve never seen before.

Check out more of Mosse’s work...HERE.

EFFICIENT GERMAN STYLE...

Those Germans with their crazy efficiency have struck again... or at least they have proven their ability to style a shoot with great proficiency.

Photographed by Knoepfel & Indlekofer and styled by Nicola Knels for Vogue Germany- this editorial encapsulates all that is great in the world of fashion today. Contrasting prints and textures create an aesthetic that is cohesive and contemporary, whilst simultaneously timeless.

A YEAR WITH CHRISTINE CENTENERA...

Sure, it’s probably pretty hard to go wrong when you have access to the latest and greatest in fashion and designers are pining over you to wear their collections...but I really admire Centenera’s keen eye for shape and texture and the manner in which she uses these two elements to consistently provide exhilarating fashion moments.

So...an homage to Christine Centenera and the year that was...
